Between 10-30 ranks, the t-test is used: t = r * sqrt[(N - 2)/(1 - r^2) degrees of freedom = N - 2 When N > 30, use the z-test z = r * sqrt[ N-1 ] For less than 10 ranks, use Wilcoxian rank-sums, tables for which are readily available.
