I had worked with Beverly for 13 years. She was so looking forward to the day she could retire. She will be missed around the office. But she will be one that will never be forgotten.

Dear Beverly Sue,
Congratulations on your graduation from earthly life to eternal life! While I never had the pleasure of knowing you in person, I have been blessed with the neverending friendship of your sister, Lu Ann. May you rest (and have a blast) in peace.

When my Dad passed in 1997 and my Mom, Ruth Johnston Parks, passed in 2000, I felt lost. I wanted to have a sense of my roots and to develop relationships with Johnston cousins. Living in California, I wasn't sure how to do that. So, I decided to send a Christmas card to every cousin. One of those cousins was Beverly Sue. She responded in kind, but our relationship didn't really blossom until Josh found my genealogy posting on the internet and emailed me. When I realized who he was, I asked for Sue's email address. hrough her emails, I found the essence of Sue. She was passionate about so many topics and she was always so eloquent in stating her position on those topics. She was cerebral and challenged all of us to think more about current issues. I was always mesmerized by her email discourses with Josh and how they both could hold their own in debating a topic. eMails aside, my fondest memories of Sue are from the annual Memorial Day picnic at Uncle Ralph's. I remember the first time Sue & I met in 2003 at Aunt Boots' funeral and the deep connection I felt with her. The picture in this gallery of her and me was taken then and I will always treasure it. I shall miss her deeply, but will keep her close in my heart forever. She was a good soul whose passing came too soon. Everyone whom she touched is forever enriched by knowing her. I count myself blessed to have been one of those people.

You are forever in my heart,
Cousin Jan

It was so sudden. What I will miss most is when she would call me for some little thing and we would spend an hour or two talking. I will mis her wealth of insight into the geopolitical world. I will miss changing the air filter every time I would go to her house. I will miss hearing about her retirement plans. I will miss telling her all about the boys growing up, and all the little silly things they do.

There is so much more.

A lot is said about the life that was lived when a person dies by the comments people make. To die well one must first live well and Beverly Sue you did both! To the family we stand in love and prayer. Tim and Cynthia Johnston

Beloved cousin, friend and mentor. You were the first Busse cousin;being younger I always looked up to you;you were a sterling example. Thanks for sharing and keeping alive all the stories and memories of our family. I am ever thankful for your help the summer of 1974 when I arrived in Dallas unannounced and you opened your home and family to Amy and I while I completed my pediatric nurse practitioner training. You held my hand as I also went through a divorce at that time. Amy and Jennifer at 18mo were quite a pair for you to take care of. Over the years we did not see you a lot but we could always pick up where we left off;anytime I called for advice you were always a tremendous help. We appreciate you helping us be where we are today. And so glad you are filling in the family in heaven on what we are doing here until we all met again in that beautiful, forever place.Love and prayers,Sandy Busse Nunley,Amy,Chris,Noah,Leah and Jonah Tyner.
